You don’t smoke anymore

It’s great that you have been able to give up smoking. Smoking isn’t on your mind every day anymore, but sometimes the craving for cigarettes might surprise you suddenly. Remember that even a small amount of smoking may make you start again.

You have many new things in your life. Physically you’re in better shape; you can breathe better and feel livelier.

Hopefully you have new hobbies and have got to know non-smoking friends.

What if I slip?

A smoker normally needs from three to four tries before being able to quit successfully. If you slip again, throw the cigarettes away and start again. Think what went wrong and be wiser next time!

Even after years you might start smoking again even after only a few cigarettes. The receptors in the brain quickly recognise the familiar substance, nicotine, and start requiring more and more again.
